What’s New

Each year we work hard to bring you fresh and entertaining activity to enjoy. Here are the brand new features to inspire you at this year’s show.

The Apartment, is a fully functioning living space housed inside a 12m shipping container, designed by Route 3 Design Studio. Fusing the newest trends from across the home design spectrum, The Apartment uses functional furniture to create a stunning tiny home. A host of local design talent have collaborated to display their cutting-edge home creations, including a printed and lazer cut glass shower wet room, a smart phone controlled home entertainment and lighting system, and specially commissioned art work throughout.

At the KAPOW Designer Café presented by Dulux, KZN’s top interior decorators and designers will present their personal visions for home creation. Seven cameo stands, built on a pairing between designers and local fabric houses, form blank canvases on which new home design dreams are built.

Sponsored by Dulux, the café is an interactive design hub, hosting talks on interpreting trends, choosing the right designer/decorator, tips on colour and more – a place where designer and home owner meet.

The African Green Revolution House is a sophisticated new low cost home made exclusively from recycled products. The one room structure is crafted from re-purposed plastic, including two litre plastic bottles for bricks and plastic bottle lids for flooring. The house includes a re-purposed wooden pallet roof top vegetable garden, envisioned to become a long-term source of food for the resident family.

A brand-new smorgasbord of carefully crafted, fresh and flavoursome food and drink showcasing the crème de la crème of KZN’s culinary cabal. You’ll have 10 full days to taste your way around, from coffee in cones, to Moroccan burgers and craft gin on tap at the trendy evolution to the man cave – the Backyard Bar Shed.
