In exactly one month we open our doors for 10 days of inspiration, expert advice and interactive activities. It’s time we gave you a taste of our new features and exciting pop-ups that celebrate our 2018 theme, “Home is Where the Heart is”; focused on celebrating KZN’s wonderfully creative people, their inspiring products and inspiring style.

Last year, around 90 000 people joined us for an action-packed show, and with our fresh take on the world of décor and design this year, we expect to welcome many more visitors from 29 June to 8 July at the Durban Exhibition Centre. Be sure to book your tickets in advance to avoid the queues!

We’ve, once again, pulled out all the stops to bring you brand-new features aimed at providing fun for the whole family!

  • Discover Durban Design, will showcase the ever-growing creative community of talented local individuals whose passions set local trends that celebrate the country’s beauty; including Durban’s top, locally curated products, furniture and fashion.
  • Demonstrating his talent in a live format is local street artist, Giffy Duminy, who will be creating a 10-meter-long mural depicting his interpretation of home in a live painting spectacle taking place over three days.
  • Maintaining a trendy, modern family home needn’t be an impossible task. Parents looking for help in decluttering and redecorating their children’s rooms or living spaces can find workable solutions in The Edit with well-respected stylist, blogger and founder of inspirational kid’s décor and handmade toys online store, Olly Polly, Genevieve Motley.
  • Together with Durban Tourism, and led by Durban’s celebrity chef Sherwyn Weaich, the brand-new Discover Durban Cuisine Kitchen will highlight cultural, traditional, and contemporary food, and celebrate local cooking talents with developing and renowned chefs as they present their top tips, inspired flavour combinations and favourite dishes in an interactive demonstration kitchen.
  • Parents can look forward to a well-deserved break and peace-of-mind in the safety of the Melissa & Doug Play Space for their children. Not only will this area include dedicated child-minders, but it will also be abundant with the interactive, well-known toys, games and learning material from Melissa & Doug.

If you enjoyed last year’s show features, we bring you even more exciting add-ons to regular favourites.

  • Riding on Durban as a top international street food destination, the popular Foodie Fair aims to mimic this trend by bringing double the mouth-watering flavour; offering delicious street foods, desserts, artisanal and speciality delicacies.
  • Green Fingers, previously The Gardener, will include a new Gin Garden Bar so visitors can sip on their favourite botanical combinations while immersing themselves in the world of plants, garden care, food gardening, seasonal and annual varieties, and more.
  • Those hankering for a tipple with a twist, can look forward to discovering great new flavours at the wide selection of Craft Beer stations.
